I prefer titles that are simple and neutral, in order to make the images as open as possible to interpretation.
Living in Chicago is a source of inspiration to me, with its combination of old brick buildings and austere skyscrapers, set into a regular grid that is criss-crossed by diagonal streets and the elevated trains.
I am interested in representational art that relates to stories. My goal is to make paintings that raise questions for the viewer, and encourage him or her to try to imagine the relationships between the people places that are depicted. I've experimented with using single images on canvas, sometimes at very large scale. I've also worked on masonite panels, using several images in a single piece, all contained with a single frame.
